No more NeSa -activate ACT

Sierra Morlan

January 31, 2017

Replacing the NeSA exam with more college readiness exams helps to prepare high school juniors and seniors for exams such as the  ACT. With this change students will spend less time taking exams that don’t have an immediate effect on them and more time focusing on exams that affect their future. The reason students may put more time into studying and producing better scores is that they eventually send their ACT scores into the college of their choice. Not only does it benefit the students, this also results in a benefit for the school. Higher Motivation = Higher Scores. On Wednesday, April 19th Weeping Water High School will take the juniors downtown to Gibson Hall to take the ACT which is payed for by the state. They will have 4 hours to answer all of the questions. The test will follow the same protocol as anywhere else the students would take it.  This will eliminate the stress of the students choosing a Saturday that will work for them. They will be able to see and use their scores in the Fall of their senior year.
