Journalism

What is the purpose of journalism?

Journalism students have the opportunity to improve their writing skills in a fun and unique way. Developing and enhancing these writing skills prepares students for future writing challenges in school or on the job. Journalism class also allows students to explore possible career paths involving newspaper editing, reporting, and writing.

What do journalism students do?

  • create and market the yearbook
  • photograph events
  • write articles for the website
  • put together the weekly “Toilet Paper”
  • have fun!

How can I get involved?

If you are interested in joining journalism, you need to sign up for it as a class. Currently, journalism class occurs during 8th hour. To get signed up, see the journalism teacher, Mrs. Vanderveen, or the guidance counselor, Mrs. Dawn Bickford.
