Attention 7-12th grade students. The weight room will be open from 6:45-7:45am Monday through Friday with staff supervision. This is a great way to get BIGGER, FASTER AND STRONGER!

HONOR’S NIGHT FOR 9-12: TUESDAY, MAY 7TH AT 7:00 PM. All 9-12 students and parents are invited to attend this program honoring our students achievements!

BOOSTERS PANCAKE SUPPER ON HONORS NIGHT: TUESDAY, MAY 7th IN THE SCHOOL in the MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM. SERVING PANCAKES (BY WES) & SAUSAGES AND BISCUITS & GRAVY from 5:30 PM – 6:45 PM. FREE WILL OFFERING. ALL PROFITS GO TO A SCHOLARSHIP TO BE GIVEN ON HONORS NIGHT 2020.

REMINDER TO STUDENTS & STAFF: Please pay all bills you have before the end of the school year, which is approaching quickly! This includes lunch bills, library fines, lost books, etc.!

Reminder to all students who plan to participate in Close Up trip to DC next year, I need your $100 deposit made out to Close up by May 1st.

Reminder, all students’ MS-HS girls and boys, should have locks on their PE-sports lockers. If you chose NOT to have a lock on your PE locker and have something taken, do not come to the principal office.

Seniors-

Graduation practice has been changed from Friday, May 10th to Wednesday, May 8th at 8:00am. Seniors are to report by 8:00am to the MPR for the senior meeting and breakfast.

• STOP IN MRS. BICKFORD’S OFFICE AND CHECK THE GRADUATION INSERT. MAKE SURE TO CHECK MARK YOUR NAME WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS!

• THE JAMES M. COX SCHOLARSHIP WAS JUST SENT OUT TO SCHOOLS AND THEY HAVE EXTENDED THEIR DEADLINE TO MAY 15TH. IF YOU WANT TO APPLY FOR THIS $1000 SCHOLARSHIP PLEASE GET AN APPLICATION FORM FROM MRS. BICKFORD ASAP!

Section 18 School Dances/Prom Criteria Policy:

*9-12 students (excluding MS students) who attend school dances (Homecoming/Prom) must be a registered high school student, fill out an outside date guest form with approval from the guest school district, abide by the school dress code, show school ID or driver’s license and be 19 years old or younger to be admitted as a date of a Weeping Water student. For graduated students, same as above along with proof of valid driver’s license will be required. Post-prom is not a school-sponsored activity.

Student Appearance Policy (Attire and Grooming) Policy 5031

*Students at Weeping Water Public School are expected to dress in a way that is appropriate for a school, activity settings. Students should not dress in a manner that is dangerous to the health and safety of anyone or that is distracting or interferes with the learning environment or teaching process in our school. Following is a list of examples of attire that will not be considered appropriate. Such list is not exclusive, and other forms of attire, which are disruptive to the educational environment/activity may be deemed inappropriate by administration or staff.

1. Clothing that shows an inappropriate amount of bare skin or underwear/garment: low cut tops, see-through wear, no hats, or other clothing revealing bare shoulders or a bare midriff. Sagging pants are not permitted,

*Dance styles- No grinding, horseplay, dirty dancing etc. if so, you will be asked to stop! 2nd time you will be asked to leave.

*Leaving: Anyone who comes to the dance cannot leave until 9:30pm with parent permission given to the event supervisor or administration (Mrs. Burch or Mr. Wockenfuss).

Reminder for parents and students planning on participating in sports next year. Physicals can be taken after May 1st for the next school year. Please get your physical forms turned into the office after your appointments. Don't wait until next August to take care of this important part of participating in athletics.

The School Carnival will be on the last day of school, May 17th from 5-8 p.m. It will be held in the student parking lot, weather permitting. Look for more info soon! Next year's junior class should plan on being there to help with the carnival games, as this is our main fundraiser for Prom. We will have a meeting in the next few weeks to discuss details.

PROM INFORMATION:

Juniors and Seniors--There will be a mandatory meeting TODAY over lunch in the art room to go over expectations for Prom.

Prom will be May 4th at Gibson Hall. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m., We will announce Jrs and Srs and their dates at 7 p.m., Coronation will be at 7:15 p.m., and dinner following coronation at approximately 7:45 p.m. The dance will be after dinner from 8:30-10:30 p.m. After Prom bus leaves at 11:00 p.m.

Prom out-of-town date forms are available in the front office. This is only for out of town dates not for any WWPS underclass student who will be attending. The form is due by noon May 3, no exceptions.

2019 SUMMER DRIVER’S EDUCATION: Sign up for Driver’s Ed before you leave for the summer with at $25 deposit. It will be held school July 8th-July 12th from 8:30-12:30. Behind-the-Wheel will be scheduled July 8th-July 31st. You MUST have a driving permit before the first day of class! The total cost is $350. CLASS LIMIT OF 20!
