MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL
Any seventh or eighth grade student enrolled in Weeping Water Public Schools may participate in volleyball. Students may participate as players or volunteer to participate as student managers; however, a limited number of manager positions will be available. The coach(es) will select managers from the pool of available volunteers. During the season students must remain academically eligible according to the standards of Weeping Water Public Schools as well as abide by the guidelines set forth by the coach(es) in order to continue to participate.
Expectations and Policies
• It is imperative that each player and manager be present at all scheduled practices and games. Failing to attend will result in a loss of playing time. In the event of an illness or emergency, it is your responsibility to contact your coach before practice begins! Such an instance may constitute an excused absence. It is also important to be on time for practice. Tardiness may also result in a loss of playing time. Loss of playing time due to attendance or punctuality will be at the discretion of the coach(es).
• During practices and games it is expected that you are attentive and respectful at all times. Though we hope that you are having fun, you must do so while taking your responsibility to your team seriously. We will have a limited number of practices and games and it is necessary for you to be mentally present at all times in order to maximize productivity. Players and/or managers may be dismissed or lose playing time due to unprofessional conduct at the discretion of the coach(es).
• We will travel to various competitions as a group. You will be expected to ride to all events with the rest of the team unless prior arrangements have been approved by your coach(es). If you wish to leave an event with your parent(s)/guardian(s) rather than riding home with the team you may do so, but you must be signed out by a parent/guardian. You will not be permitted to leave with a friend.
• Every player is guaranteed practice time. Playing time is not a guarantee. Your coaches will do their best to ensure that all players are able to participate in games as much as possible, but keep in mind that every player on the team is important whether she is on the court or encouraging her teammates from the sidelines.
