This week is national Kindness Challenge Week. The first graders and Mr. Henkel’s tribe teamed up today to spread some kindness. The secondary students read and colored with the elementary kids and they made cards for WWPS teachers.

Girls and Boys BB Games at Peru State College vs Falls City start at 4:00pm on Thursday, Jan. 27th. Girls and Boys JV will only play 2 quarters each. Varsity Girls could potentially start as early as 5:30. Please plan accordingly.
Weeping Water Public Schools has an opening for an evening custodian. This is a full-time position with benefits. The application may be downloaded at www.weepingwaterps.org or picked up from the school office during school hours. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. FYI WWPS parents - Friday, February 4th will be a 1:30 dismissal day. The school district is hosting the ECNC Wrestling Tournament on that Friday.

Indian athletic teams are starting the week off by hosting the Boys JV Wrestling Invite starting @ 4:00 in the main gym along with the Junior High Girls kicking their season off vs Elmwood-Murdock @ 4:30 in the reserve gym. Both gyms will stream action on YouTube at WW Athletics

Indian Basketball goes 3 of 4 on wins at Nebraska Lutheran. Girls JV, Boys JV, and Girls Varsity all collect wins while the Varsity Boys battled a hot shooting Knight team. Catch the girls’ teams next in action Saturday night in Weeping Water at 6:15. #rolltribe
Saturday is another busy day for athletics as the Girls Wrestling Team hosts their Invite with wrestling beginning at 9:30. The Girls Basketball teams host Lourdes CC in a late evening matchup starting with JV at 6:15 followed by Parent's Night then the Varstiy Game. #rolltribe
Boys and Girls Wrestling pick up wins tonight at home during parent’s night. The boys beat Roncalli 54-15 but lose to Yutan 18-66. The girls beat Yutan 29-12. Both teams are back in action Friday at Louisville. #rolltribe

Second graders had the opportunity to participate in an Engineering Challenge this week. Thank you to the Cass County 4H Extension for providing this fun, hands on learning experience.
Due to widespread illnesses among staff and our inability to cover those absences, Weeping Water Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, January 21st. Bright Arrows Childcare will remain open.
Since this is a staffing issue, evening activities will continue as scheduled.
We apologize for the hardships this creates for families. We simply do not have the staff to cover all of our student responsibilities safely and effectively.
